Building Maintenance Technician (Entry-Level) – PDS Tech
Location: McDonough, GA
Pay Rate: $19.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (overtime as needed)
Position Overview:
PDS Tech is seeking a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Technician to support general facility maintenance and light industrial equipment needs within a commercial/industrial environment. This role is ideal for candidates with basic maintenance experience who are comfortable using hand and power tools and supporting multiple trades. This is not a highly skilled role but does require reliability, mechanical aptitude, and a strong safety mindset.
General Function:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine facility maintenance, assisting with basic repairs, and supporting preventative maintenance activities. Duties include maintaining building systems, assisting senior technicians, and ensuring the facility remains safe, clean, and operational.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform general facility maintenance and repair tasks
Assist with lighting repairs and basic electrical work
Repair flush valves and unclog drains
Perform painting, debris collection, and minor construction tasks
Move, assemble, and install furniture and equipment
Assist with automation equipment repairs and preventative maintenance as directed
Perform basic mobile equipment preventative maintenance and minor repairs
Assist with HVAC preventative maintenance and minor repairs
Follow all safety procedures and site-specific standards
Minimum Requirements:
1 year of maintenance experience in a commercial or industrial environment
Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
Willingness to assist across multiple maintenance areas
Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work overtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to read and interpret basic electrical schematics and maintenance procedures
Basic understanding of mechanical, logic, and fluid power diagrams
Basic computer and math skills
Knowledge of safety standards including Lock-Out/Tag-Out, MSDS, PPE, and OSHA
Ability to assist with troubleshooting using basic root cause analysis
Additional Requirements:
Must pass background check and drug screening
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Pay Details: $19.00 per hour
