Facilities Maintenance Technician
**Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician** **Job Description** The Facilities Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficient operation and upkeep of our building and facility systems. This includes performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and responding to repair requests to ensure a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment. **Responsibilities** + Perform general building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and painting tasks. + Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on systems and equipment. + Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with facility equipment and systems. + Respond promptly to maintenance service requests and building emergencies. + Monitor and maintain building safety systems including fire alarms, extinguishers, and emergency lighting. + Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work. + Set up and break down rooms or equipment for meetings, events, or special projects. + Coordinate with external vendors and contractors as needed for specialized repairs. + Ensure compliance with company policies and local safety regulations. + Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and storage rooms. **Essential Skills** + 2+ years of experience in building maintenance or a similar role. + Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and technical documents. + Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment. + Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. + Basic computer skills and experience with maintenance tracking systems (CMMS preferred). + Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Proficiency in industrial maintenance, troubleshooting, hydraulics, and mechanical maintenance. + Experience with electrical maintenance, pneumatics, low voltage systems, and minor PLC troubleshooting. + Skills in motors, bearings, industrial repair, electrical troubleshooting, high voltage, CNC laser, setup machine, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, pneumatics, fabrication, and welding. **Why Work Here?** Join a large facilities team in a centrally located position in Charleston.
