We are seeking an entry-level Facilities Maintenance Technician who will be a great team player and can be molded into an experienced technician. The role emphasizes customer service and involves working under the supervision of tenured technicians for training. You will perform troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repairs in office, retail, and industrial buildings. This position does not require on-call duties during the initial training period.
ResponsibilitiesPerform troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repairs to office, retail, and industrial buildings.Respond to maintenance requests from commercial tenants and complete work orders in a safe, appropriate, and timely manner.Provide direct customer service to building tenants.Conduct detailed building inspections.Perform basic troubleshooting of systems.Provide support and backup to other department team members.Provide 24/7 emergency building support on a rotating schedule.Interface with accounting for client billing and maintaining building budget.Follow safety-related policies, rules, technical instructions, and guidelines.Utilize basic hand tools and specialized tools, as appropriate.
Essential SkillsBasic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems.Competence in drywall repair and preventive maintenance.High level of customer service.
Additional Skills & Qualifications0-1+ years of maintenance experience.Open to candidates straight out of vocational school (Fortis HVAC or similar study).Experience in apartment maintenance or mechanically inclined and hard-working individuals.Vocational school is a plus.Basic computer skills.Trainable and eager to learn.
