**Job Title: Maintenance Technician**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our HVAC Shop. The role involves performing a wide range of general maintenance tasks, including working with high voltage motors and handling specialized or challenging jobs. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for repairing, maintaining, and inspecting machines, mechanical equipment, and building systems, including plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, and heating systems. This position also involves performing painting and carpentry jobs.
**Responsibilities**
+ Repair, adjust, or replace structural parts of buildings, furniture, and laboratory apparatus.
+ Perform plumbing tasks such as adjusting and repairing pipes, plumbing fixtures, and HVAC-related equipment.
+ Unclog drain lines and sewers and make minor adjustments to building controls.
+ Perform rough carpentry work, including constructing wood forms, protective sheds, and shelving.
+ Prepare and apply paints to various surfaces as needed.
+ Repair and maintain electrical systems, including switches, circuit breakers, and light fixtures.
+ Conduct routine maintenance to ensure machines and building systems operate efficiently.
+ Inspect drive motors, belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance work.
+ Provide guidance to less experienced workers.
+ Keep records of maintenance and repair work.
+ Observe safety precautions and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
+ Be available for 24-hour calls if required.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ High school diploma or GED
+ Advanced knowledge in mechanical drawing, electricity, woodworking, blueprint reading, science, and mathematics
+ Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs
+ Capability to ascend/descend ladders and move around campus
+ Proficiency in using a full range of craftsmen’s tools
+ Ability to drive a light truck
+ Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions

**Work Environment**
The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The position may require standing, walking, or moving about continuously, and the ability to lift and position objects. A clean and orderly work environment is maintained at all times, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, Maryland.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.07 - $25.07/hr.
