Facilities Engineer
HVAC/R Technician

Job Description

As a Facilities Engineer specializing in Supermarket HVAC/R systems, you will operate, inspect, and maintain all HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment within assigned facilities. Your goal is to ensure efficient operating results and maximum life expectancy of the equipment, while minimizing downtime through proactive maintenance. You will perform both interior and exterior inspections and repairs, focusing on HVAC/R systems and demonstrating expertise in electrical, plumbing, and material handling equipment.

ResponsibilitiesPerform ongoing preventive and repair response work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, and other installed systems and components.Maintain, operate, and repair all HVAC/R systems and associated equipment, electrical distribution equipment, plumbing systems, building interior/exterior repairs, and related grounds and production equipment.Study and become familiar with various equipment and methods required for daily activities.Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on conditions impacting client occupancy and operations.Manage site-level refrigerant inventories and usage.Complete Hazard Assessments as necessary and comply with all safety procedures.Maintain good housekeeping and safety of work areas, recognizing and proposing methods to eliminate safety hazards.Ensure compliance with State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws.Complete all required safety trainings as scheduled and practice defensive driving.Possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.Submit P-card receipts daily and update work order status in real time.Utilize CMMS systems such as Corrigo for all work performed.Perform vehicle safety inspections and escalate problems or issues to the customer and manager in a timely manner.Attend work and safety meetings as required.Perform any and all other duties and tasks as assigned.Essential SkillsMinimum of four years of technical experience in building engineering, with a strong experience in HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical, and production equipment repair and maintenance.Knowledge of overall system design and applications.Strong customer service skills.Strong interpersonal skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsWorking knowledge of computer applications, including Word and Excel.EPA 1 & 2 certification (Universal preferred).Work Environment

This position requires lifting up to 80 lbs, working from heights, and frequently climbing, bending, lifting, kneeling, stooping, and working/extending overhead. You will work in adverse conditions, such as extreme cold or heat, and drive for long periods. Climbing a ladder with a 300 lb weight limit while carrying a tool bag weighing approximately 20 lbs, and climbing ladders up to 30 feet, will be required. Availability for call-in work and performing other duties as needed is essential.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $40.00/hr.
