Facilities Custodial And Maintenance Assistant

Description

The Facilities Custodial and Maintenance Assistant is responsible for supporting the maintenance and upkeep of the facility, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment. This role involves performing routine maintenance tasks, minor repairs, and providing assistance to the facilities management team. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•\tGeneral maintenance of building including but not limited to:

o\tCarpentry, painting, plumbing, weed maintenance, parking lot

•\tGeneral building repairs including but not limited to:

o\tLights, locks, windows, doors, walls, floors, gutters, drains

o\tServe as contact with building landlord

•\tEnsure cleanliness and tidiness of the facility, including restrooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces

•\tCoordinate daily/weekly forklift maintenance

•\tAdhere to all OSHA building requirements

•\tMaintain 5S implementation throughout the building

•\tSchedule service requests with outside vendors as needed

•\tCoordinate site services with vendors onsite

•\tProcure materials needed for facilities as needed

o\tExpenditures over $500.00 will require prior management authorization

o\tAble to drive company vehicle to purchase needed material.

•\tProcure and Maintain stock levels of PPE equipment for the departments

•\tMonitor garbage levels and schedule pickups accordingly

•\tEmpty Trash cans as needed

•\tOrganize storage areas, cabinets & closets

•\tMaintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs

•\tMaintain Safe environment, reporting all hazards or unsafe work practices

•\tAssist daily with general janitorial clean ups, both inside and outside of the building. Schedule provided by management.

Qualifications:

•\tHigh school diploma or equivalent.

•\tProven experience in a maintenance or facilities role.

•\tAbility to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.

•\tStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

•\tGood communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

•\tPhysical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects, stand, and walk for extended periods.

•\tLift, carry, push and or pull up to 50-70 lbs. occasionally, Lift, carry, push, or pull 20 Ibs. frequently.

•\tSquat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently.

•\tMust be able to stand/walk/sit for long periods of time.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
