THE ROLE

As the Facilities Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the Maintenance team, under the direction of the Safety & Facilities Manager, with day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Legends Global – Grand Rapids Complex. This role will require the employee to work a rotating schedule between Van Andel Arena, the Acrisure Amphitheater, and the DeVos Place Convention Center and Performance Hall. This is a part-time position with flexible working hours.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Utilize building management software programs to enter asset/operational data, manage and create maintenance work orders, and provide the facilities team with accurate recordsWork alongside the in-house maintenance staff to learn technical skills related to the industry such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc. and assist as needed to complete these tasksAssist with day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating tasks or planning maintenance needs based on Event work ordersSchedule routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside contractorsAssist the Facilities Team by setting up appointments, scheduling meetings, distributing reports, and managing correspondence between outside both contractors/vendors and other departments within the venuesCommunicate with vendors to follow up on orders, appointments, and deliveriesFulfill additional clerical/technical tasks as assigned by a supervisor

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or GED is requiredExperience working in technical trades is preferred but not required

Other Requirements

Valid driver’s licenseHours may vary based on event schedules, some weekends or evenings may be required.
