Job Description SummaryResponsible to assist with the operation troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repairs on commercial buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, grounds, and maintenance equipment for assigned properties/facilities.Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

Assist in troubleshooting and repairing building systems, including packaging and handling machinery, plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofing, drainage, shop and grounds equipment, and HVAC systems.

Clean, lubricate, and service a variety of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic devices such as pumps, valves, and controls.

Support installation and modification of building equipment and systems.

Replace and repair building finishes including ceiling tiles, door hardware, wallpaper, and perform painting of walls, piping, floors, and equipment.

Evaluate maintenance operations and recommend upgrades or cost-saving opportunities.

Demonstrate competent knowledge in the use and care of tools and equipment for facility and grounds maintenance.

Respond promptly to emergency situations and customer service requests.

Conduct inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify unsafe or malfunctioning conditions and perform preventive maintenance.

Operate and maintain fire and life safety systems, including fire alarms, fire pumps, and related equipment.

Perform carpentry tasks and snow removal as needed.

Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and company policies related to building operations.

Practice safe work habits at all times.

Utilize technology such as smartphones, tablets, computers, web-based applications, and building automation systems.

Complete all required C&W safety training annually.

Adhere to C&W uniform dress code and maintain a neat, professional appearance on-site.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

Minimum of 2 years of related experience in a commercial property setting.

Technical, vocational, or on-the-job training in one or more of the following areas: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair.

Valid driver’s license (commercial license may be required) with a clean driving record and periodic checks.

Basic computing skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Work Environment

This role operates in a professional office setting and may also involve work in industrial or warehouse environments. Standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines are routinely used. The technician may be the only maintenance staff member on duty during certain shifts and may be required to work extended hours during emergencies or priority situations. Shift work and on-call duties may be required.

The physical demands of this role include:

Communicating effectively and exchanging accurate information.

Operating computers and office productivity equipment.

Moving throughout the workplace.

Remaining stationary for approximately 10% of the time.
