MIG WELDERS NEEDED ASAP

Job Description

We are seeking a short-term Production/Fabricator Mig Welder to join our team for the summer busy period. This position will last for 1-2 months and offers a competitive hourly wage based on performance in a weld test. The day shift operates from 5am to 1:30pm, with opportunities for overtime. The role involves the proper, productive, and safe fitting and joining of various skylight, smoke vent, and other components using selected fabricating processes and procedures.

ResponsibilitiesSafely and securely move required materials into and out of the welding area. Certification and licensing as a forklift driver is necessary if a forklift is used, though most materials are moved with a pallet jack.Layout, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies before tacking and welding, using prescribed fixtures, clamps, squares, and tape measures.Operate manual aluminum and steel wire-feed welding equipment to join metal components within defined parameters, ensuring high-quality products.Examine workpieces for defects using visual inspection, tape measures, straight edges, squares, and templates to ensure conformance with specifications.Monitor the welding process to avoid overheating, warpage, distortion, or 'burning through' materials.Detect faulty welding machine operations or defective materials and notify supervisors.Properly stack and secure finished parts on pallets before transferring them to the assembly department.Ensure that finished product counts are correct and properly marked or tagged with order numbers and other identifying marks.Maintain a clean and safe work area.Essential SkillsProficiency in MIG welding, blueprint reading, fabrication, and production processes.Ability to inspect workpieces accurately.Basic fabricating aptitude with either a 2-year technical school degree or 2 years of related work experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge and experience in safety requirements for operating wire-feed equipment and material handling.Understanding of wire and filler materials for joining aluminum and galvanized steel.Working knowledge of welding setup parameters such as volts, amps, and wire speed.Ability to use basic measuring instruments and accurately read manufacturing drawings.Proficiency in assigned welding techniques and knowledge of finish grinding tools.Completion of an internal pre-employment welding assessment.Why Work Here?

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
