**Job Title: Machine Operator - Fabrication** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our fabrication team, responsible for setting up, programming, testing, and adjusting machines to shape materials according to specifications. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work with various materials such as bus and steel using shear machines. **Responsibilities** + Set up, program, test, and adjust machines for shearing, piercing, extruding, bending, and shaping materials. + Process work orders in line with production schedules or expedited requests. + Read and interpret blueprints to produce desired parts. + Install, exchange, align, and lock punches, dies, or other fixtures on machines. + Interface with industrial robots for material handling on conveyors or specified devices. + Position and secure materials against fixtures, clamps, or stops on machines. + Observe equipment operations and troubleshoot machine control issues. + Inspect completed workpieces for defects such as jagged edges or marred surfaces. + Measure completed workpieces with tools like squares, tape measures, and calipers to verify specifications. + Mark parts with identifying information and neatly stack fabricated parts on carts or conveyors. + Properly discard scrap and defective materials. + Initiate scrap tickets to generate part replacement orders. + Collaborate with Material Handlers to ensure the availability of materials like copper, aluminum, and various types of steel. + Clean and maintain machines, equipment, and work area to ensure proper functioning and safety. + Perform or assist in necessary equipment repairs as a Class A Operator. + Operate forklifts and other electrical material handling equipment for loading and unloading materials. + Perform other tasks as directed by supervision. **Essential Skills** + High School diploma or equivalent. + 6 months of fabrication experience, specifically in forming and punching. + Basic shop math skills. + Basic computer skills and proficiency with mechanical/measuring tools. + Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and comprehending English. + Physical ability to reach, grasp, lift 50 lbs., and push/pull/slide heavy materials. + Capability to make coordinated hand and arm movements to grasp and move objects. + Ability to stoop, bend, squat, crawl, and climb. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + CNC Programming preferred. + Must be at least 18 years of age. + Reliable transportation required. **Why Work Here?** Join a company that values its employees by offering a full package of benefits and consistent pay increases every six months. Overtime is voluntary, and the facility is equipped with common safety equipment. The site is unionized, offering eligibility for conversion after 90 days, with pay increases every six months for full-time employees. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pomona, CA. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
