As a Fabricator, you will be responsible for performing all duties with a strong emphasis on safety while operating a variety of sheet metal machines including brakes, lasers, deburring machines, shears, notches, and turret punching machines. You will work from complex drawings, prints, templates, and specifications, using shop calculations and math as necessary. You will cut and form pieces to required dimensions and ensure high precision in your work with close tolerances. Monitoring machines for proper operation and maintaining a clean and orderly work area are key aspects of this role.
ResponsibilitiesOperate sheet metal machines such as brakes, lasers, deburring machines, shears, notches, and turret punching machines.Receive work orders and prints, and apply shop calculations and math when necessary.Work from complex drawings, prints, templates, and specifications.Use machines, hand tools, and measuring instruments to cut and form pieces to required dimensions.Perform highly diversified work involving close tolerances and ensure accuracy using precision measuring instruments.Monitor machines continuously for proper operation.Collaborate with team members and other departments under close supervision.Maintain a clean and orderly work area.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsExperience with press brake, machine operation, punch press, and sheet metal fabrication.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly during the shift.High degree of attention, mental alertness, and care to prevent injury when operating machines.Knowledge of shop mathematics.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience fabricating sheet metal parts using brakes, lasers, deburring machines, shears, notches, and turret punching machines.Ability to perform setup and machine operation.Why Work Here?Employees are provided with a $300 pair of steel-toed boots after the contracting period if they demonstrate correct workmanship. Work EnvironmentWork in a small, climate-controlled job shop with only 15 people. Enjoy an extremely clean environment with very new equipment. Benefit from a great 401K and other benefits when becoming permanent. The position is on the 2nd Shift, Monday through Thursday, from 3:15 pm to 1:45 am.
