This position works under general supervision, coordinates, oversees and monitors activities within Fabrications.

As a Machining Team Lead at Caterpillar, you will:

Capable of learning basic CNC machining operationsUse lifting devices to move heavy components of weights of more than 35 lbs.Position heavy fabricated metal components in fit-up jigs and weld fixtures utilizing overhead and jib cranesUse both manual and digital gages to record dimensional machining dataOversees the efficient operation of all machining cellsWill be responsible for meeting performance metrics as they pertain to safety, quality, velocity and costCoordinate, oversee, and monitors activities in fabricationsBe the first point of contact for questions related to employee job functionsPerform administrative functions and may be accountable for daily team PQVC metric boardsProvide input on schedule/build adjustmentsCommunicate with cross-functional leadersTrains new and develop existing employeesLiaison between team members and section managersResponsible for training other team members in Standard Work Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Must have at least 3 years’ experience operating multi-axis CNCN machining centers

Physical requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):

Willing and able to sit or stand for prolonged periodsWilling and able to perform repetitive operationsWilling and able to lift up to 25 lbs.

Previous team lead or supervisory experienceFurther vocational and/or college educationIntermediate proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) in Microsoft OfficeIntermediate proficiency in SAP softwareCNC machining experienceMust possess strong interpersonal skills as it pertains to communication and personal interaction with others.Advanced problem solving/troubleshooting ability and root cause corrective actionStrong analytical skills/High attention to detailStrong performance ratings and excellent attendance

Shift Schedule:

Overtime as needed

Summary Pay Range:

$27.95 - $34.95
