Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a **Principal Retrofit Field Engineer** , to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located onsite in **El Segundo, CA** . **Accomplish** This position supports the F/A-18 Post Production Programs and will report to the Fleet Support Logistics IPT Leader and provide technical / logistics support to The Boeing Company and the U.S. Navy. The team provides development, retrofit, repair planning and manages field support. You will troubleshoot technical problems and issues, determine technical solutions in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommend actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution. **Primary Duties:** + Provide F/A-18 modification / retrofit expertise and technical support in the development and planning of validation contractor field team support. + Provide technical leadership + Provide functional estimators with the base to develop the Basis of Estimates for retrofit, validation events (travel duration, Per Diem, lodging). + Manage field team planning elements, assess certification requirements (mod scope / retrofit approach, team size, skill composition, site surveys at customer facilities, equipment assessment, modification level, duration, cost, and schedule). + Responsible for Contractor Field Team (CFT) cost and schedule impacts and mitigation planning of resources. + Provide technical reach back support from El Segundo, CA. to modification teams and customers during Technical Directive validation activities. + Manage the validation and technical data submittal process (retrofit corrective action request, engineering drawing updates, engineering data submittal, coordination with customer) **Success** The individual we seek will be self-motivated, proactive, goal-oriented to help us grow our services, become even better at what we do and will possess the following qualifications. **Basic Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in a relevant STEM discipline, with a minimum of 5 years related experience or a Master’s in STEM with 3 years of related experience. + U.S. military aircraft maintenance/maintenance management/F/A-18 E/F/G structures and subsystems experience. + The candidate must be capable of interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and schematics. + Must possess some level of financial acumen and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience. + Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated DoD Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company. **Preferred Qualifications:** + U.S Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet/Growler background and experience + F/A-18 modification planning experience or execution experience + Leadership and Management experience + DoD Secret Clearance is required + Experience utilizing the full complement of Microsoft Office tools + A&P License + Cost Account Manager (CAM) experience **Thrive with Us** At Northrop Grumman we are invested in the growth and well-being off all our employees. Salary Range: $91,200.00 - $136,800.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
