Extrusion Operator
**Job Title: Extrusion Machine Operator** Job Description We are seeking motivated and reliable Extrusion Machine Operators to join our growing team. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring press, saw, stretcher, and production machinery/equipment. Responsibilities + Lay out, set up, and operate metalworking machines such as saws to cut or shape metal stock into parts or products. + Read and follow specifications and notes outlined in work orders and EPICS. + Troubleshoot and perform corrective actions or minor repairs to saws and stretchers. + Conduct daily preventive maintenance checks on saws, including lubrication levels and blade sharpness. + Use calipers and other measuring tools to check product shapes, dimensions, and specifications. + Input information into EPICS, including weight and die variances, and verify non-conformance reports related to the saw. + Communicate issues with press leads, including poor yield, die variance, and weight discrepancies. + Maintain a clean and organized work area, following 5S housekeeping principles. + Ensure proper handling, packing, and bundling of materials to maintain quality. + Operate the stretcher efficiently to ensure material is cleaned off the table continuously. + Ensure extrusion pieces are straight, twist-free, and meet quality requirements. + Report any equipment malfunctions to press leads and the maintenance team. Essential Skills + Experience in saw operation, machine operation, and machining. + Troubleshooting and reading blueprints. + Experience in a manufacturing environment. + Familiarity with tape measures, bandsaw operation, and production fabrication. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school diploma with some technical mechanical aptitude. + 1-2 years of experience in an industrial environment. + Knowledge of machinery and ability to read drawings is an asset. + Basic computer skills, including MS Windows; other MS software is an asset. + Understanding of measurements, tolerances, basic geometry, and numeracy comprehension. + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently and up to 100 lbs with assistance. + Familiarity with extrusion software such as EPICS is an asset. Work Environment The position operates on a 1st shift schedule (Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM) in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. The facility is non-climate controlled and is currently undergoing improvements to enhance operations. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
