We are seeking a skilled **Extrusion Engineer** with direct experience in **micro extrusions for medical devices** . This role will play a key part in developing and qualifying advanced extrusion processes to support innovative catheter and medical device development programs. The ideal candidate will have a deep technical background in polymer extrusion and hands-on experience with prototyping and qualification activities. **Job Title:** Extrusion Engineer **Location:** Brooklyn Park, MN **Salary:** 90-120k **Key Responsibilities:** + Develop, set up, and optimize extrusion processes for a wide range of micro extrusion applications, including **profile, multi-lumen, bump/tapered, co-extrusion, and polymer braid reinforced extrusions** . + Lead **prototyping, feasibility trials, and process development** for new product concepts. + Conduct and document **OQ/PQ (Operational Qualification/Performance Qualification) activities** to validate extrusion processes. + Collaborate with R&D, quality, and manufacturing teams to support design transfer and scale-up from prototype to production. + Troubleshoot extrusion equipment and processes to improve quality, repeatability, and efficiency. + Ensure compliance with **ISO, FDA, and GMP standards** throughout process development and documentation. + Evaluate and implement new materials, tooling, and technologies for advanced polymer extrusion applications. **Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s degree in **Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or related field** ; advanced degree preferred. + Minimum **5+ years of hands-on experience in medical device extrusion engineering** , with emphasis on **micro extrusions** . + Proven expertise with **multi-lumen, tapered, bump, co-extrusion, and polymer braid extrusions** . + Strong experience with **process prototyping, scale-up, and qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ)** . + Solid understanding of polymer behavior, tooling design, and extrusion equipment. + Experience working in a regulated medical device environment (ISO 13485, FDA). + Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. **Benefits** + 5 days onsite + Base + Bonus + Medical, Dental, & Vision with HSA and FSA plans + PTO Plan + Retirement plans including a 401K match + Supplemental Life Insurance & Disability Plans If this is a role that interests you and you’d like to learn more, click apply now and a recruiter will be in touch with you to discuss this great opportunity.
