Job Description
The role of the Extruder involves operating and controlling the extrusion process for all compounded materials, as well as weighing and blending materials to be extruded. This position requires cross-training in all Color Lab functions to promote maximum efficiency.
ResponsibilitiesActivate the exhaust system and scale at the start of each shift.Collect and weigh appropriate amounts of additives, concentrates, and pigments.Mix materials prior to extrusion as needed.Store prepared materials in designated areas with a forklift.Submit color samples for approval.Clean the machine and surrounding area after completion.Troubleshoot extruder for process control and perform preventative maintenance.Record weight of extruded materials in a logbook.Complete a daily production report and maintain all paperwork in company format.Perform work safely, including the proper use of personal protective equipment.Assist in the bagging area and deliver materials to other buildings as needed.Retrieve units from the warehouse, add necessary additives, and deduct from inventory.Pack finished units on pallets for shipment and maintain a neat work area.Perform general housekeeping duties such as sweeping and trash removal.Perform other duties according to skill and availability when primary work is not available.Essential SkillsHigh School Diploma or equivalency required.2 years of experience in a similar role preferred.Manufacturing experience preferred.Machine operation skills.Ability to perform heavy lifting.Proficiency in using hand tools.Experience in assembly and machine setup.Forklift operation experience.Knowledge of preventive maintenance.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in assembly and inspection functions.Ability to perform other duties according to skill and availability.Why Work Here?

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
