Job Description

The Export Compliance Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations within the company's global export control and sanctions framework. This role involves ensuring controlled products are identified, trading partners and upcoming shipments are screened, licenses are applied for, and colleagues are adequately trained.

ResponsibilitiesIdentify and report risks of violating laws and regulations related to exports and denied parties, ensuring appropriate actions are taken to mitigate these risks.Conduct annual risk assessments and evaluate the effectiveness of the export control framework.Identify, classify, and maintain a registry for all dual-use substances, materials, products, and technology.Ensure export licenses are obtained and documented for relevant substances, materials, products, and technology in accordance with laws and regulations.Stay informed about export control and sanction laws and regulations relevant to the business.Review shipments for various Export Review/Control Status and block non-compliant shipments.Maintain records related to the export of controlled products in accordance with regulations and internal rules.Ensure sales documentation aligns with export control requirements and includes necessary license references.Ensure contracts and terms are in place with suitable export control provisions for the sale of controlled products.Maintain export compliance work instructions, policies, procedures, and processes.Facilitate and implement proactive export compliance solutions, ensuring classification of all Export Compliance items and data management licenses.Perform product reviews to confirm or determine US Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS US) Codes, Schedule B codes, US Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN’s), and USML codes.Assist with maintaining HTS, Schedule B, ECCN, and USML codes within the company's systems.Maintain logs for export licenses, license exceptions, end use/end user reviews, and more.Perform denied party screening on all parties involved in transactions using Visual Compliance or authorized agents.Conduct end use/end user reviews and escalate any red flag situations.Ensure all export documentation is retained according to applicable recordkeeping laws and company policy.Conduct or coordinate departmental training to increase awareness of U.S. export control regulations and import best practices.Assist with audits and assessments related to export compliance, implementing corrective actions as needed.Perform additional duties as assigned.Essential SkillsExperience in logistics and aviation.Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables.Strong knowledge of export control and compliance practices.Additional Skills & QualificationsContinuous improvement mindset.Excellent communication skills with strong critical thinking abilities.Ability to clearly present complicated technical concepts to global users.Results-oriented with good writing and articulation skills.Effective time management and prioritization abilities.Strong ability to work with global and cross-functional teams, customers, suppliers, and service providers.Bachelor’s degree in business or related area preferred.Experience in the aerospace and defense industry in an export control or compliance position is strongly preferred.Knowledge of EAR, ITAR, FTR, and OFAC concepts and practices.Minimum of 2 years' experience in import and export, including technology controls, export jurisdiction and classification, HTS/Schedule B classification, and more.Work Environment

The position is based in an office setting, operating Monday to Friday from 9 am to 6 pm. The company has a global presence with service centers in Miami, London, and Singapore, supporting customers in over 140 countries. The work environment embraces the potential of online sales and a digital marketplace.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.05 - $38.46/hr.
