Exercise Physiologist- Cardiac Pulmonary Rehab (FT- 1.0 FTE, Day Shift)
Position Summary: The Exercise Physiologist advances health and fitness by performing evidence-based assessments, creating individualized exercise prescriptions, and coaching behavior change for apparently healthy clients and individuals with stable, medically managed conditions. The role conducts submaximal evaluations of cardiorespiratory fitness, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, balance, and body composition while monitoring non-diagnostic responses (e.g., heart rate, blood pressure, rating of perceived exertion, symptoms) to ensure safe participation. The Exercise Physiologist collaborates with clients, referring providers, and wellness team members to support participation, performance improvement, and sustainable lifestyle change. Qualifications: Required: + Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or related field. + Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by American Heart Association. + Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification by American Heart Association, or ability to obtain within four (4) months of hire. Preferred: + Masters of Science in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology or related field. + American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Exercise Physiologist certification (ACSM-EP). + Six hundred (600) hours of practical experience. Essential Job Functions: In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements. + Conduct pre-participation screenings, tests, and assessments. + Perform health and fitness assessments using established, non-diagnostic protocols (e.g., aerobic capacity, muscular fitness, flexibility, balance, body composition). + Interpret assessment results to develop individualized exercise prescriptions using FITT-VP principles. + Deliver and supervise individual and group exercise sessions; monitor responses and adjust programming for safety and effectiveness. + Educate clients on safe participation, progression, and lifestyle strategies within scope of practice. + Apply behavior-change techniques (e.g., goal setting, self-monitoring, relapse prevention) to support adherence. + Document services, plans, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner; maintain confidentiality. + Maintain a safe environment and equipment. + Support program operations (e.g., scheduling, client flow, outreach events, inventory) and track participation and outcomes. + Collaborate with providers and wellness professionals to coordinate services and promote continuity of care. Radiation in settings where medical imaging procedures are performed. Various chemicals and medications are used in healthcare settings. Job tasks may involve handling cleaning products, disinfectants, and other substances. Infectious diseases are caused by contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses.
