About HPE enables organizations to accelerate outcome-driven digital transformation. Our Global Marketing & Communications team builds trusted relationships with customers, partners and employees through strategic storytelling and executive thought leadership. Join us this summer to gain real-world experience supporting executive social media, building content toolkits, and helping leaders amplify HPE’s most important messages.
Role overview HPE is seeking a creative, organized and digitally savvy college intern to support social media activities for our Chief Marketing & Communications Officer (CMCO) and other executives across the company. In this role you will help plan and produce content, own parts of the editorial calendar, develop curated “social toolkits” for company announcements, and monitor performance to recommend optimizations that increase reach, engagement and message pull-through.
Responsibilities:
Help ideate, produce and edit social content aligned to executive priorities and HPE brand guidelines.
Build and maintain an editorial calendar for the CMCO and select executive channels.
Create curated social toolkits (post copy, suggested imagery, tagging, suggested posting cadence) for company news, events and campaigns to enable fast activation by executive communicators.
Monitor and analyze social performance (reach, engagement, sentiment, audience trends) and synthesize insights into actionable recommendations.
Stay current on social media trends, platform best practices, and what CMCOs and industry leaders are discussing online.
Tailor messaging to reflect an executive’s voice and audience while ensuring consistency with HPE messaging and compliance guidelines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (executive communications, PR, content, design, legal) to coordinate assets and approvals.
Support ad-hoc project work and participate in the Global Marketing & Communications intern program and cohort activities.
Qualifications:
Current rising college student (undergraduate) studying Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Business, or a related field.
Strong writing and editorial judgment with the ability to adapt tone for executive voices.
Familiarity with social platforms (LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Instagram, Threads) and a solid understanding of social best practices.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
Creative mindset with an eye for visuals and content that drives engagement.
Basic experience with social analytics or reporting tools a plus (native platform analytics, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, etc.).
Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working with senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to corporate communication policies.
