The Executive Director of Consultant Relations will lead the strategy, development, and execution of engagement initiatives with benefit consultants, brokerage firms, and key healthcare ecosystem partners. This role is pivotal in strengthening the company’s visibility, credibility, and influence within the consultant community, ultimately driving growth through trusted relationships, strategic advocacy, and thought leadership.

Location – remote but this is a high‑travel role; in‑person consultant and client engagement is essential to success.

Key Responsibilities:Build, deepen, and maintain high-impact relationships with national, regional, niche, and emerging benefit consulting firms, brokers, point-solution vendors, and industry influencers.Serve as a primary external representative for the organization at industry events, conferences, and forums, elevating brand awareness and effectively communicating the PBM value proposition.Develop and execute annual business plans for assigned consulting firms, ensuring goals and objectives align with the company’s strategic initiatives.Partner closely with Employer and Health Plan Sales, Underwriting, Proposals, Marketing, Product, Clinical, Legal, and Government Affairs to ensure consultant-facing materials, messaging, and insights are aligned, accurate, timely, and impactful.Act as an internal advocate for consultant perspectives, ensuring their insights inform business decisions and product development.Serve as a key business partner to Client Audit, ensuring appropriate access management and coordination.Act as the business owner for the Caremark Consultant Portal, driving adoption, content strategy, and enhancement opportunities.Monitor industry dynamics, market trends, competitive positioning, and consultant feedback to guide strategic decisions and support product innovation.Participate in health plan reseller activities as a strategic partner and subject matter expert.Establish and track KPIs to measure consultant engagement effectiveness, influence on the sales pipeline, and overall business impact.Qualifications15+ years of experience in healthcare, PBM, or employee benefits consulting.Deep understanding of PBM and health plan markets, including pricing models, clinical programs, and regulatory considerations.Extensive industry knowledge and strong relationship-building skills, with an existing network across major consulting firms, niche and emerging firms, point-solution vendors, and industry influencers.Proven success navigating complex stakeholder environments and building strategic partnerships across healthcare.Exceptional communication, presentation, executive influence, and interpersonal skills.Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.Demonstrated experience launching, managing, or scaling consultant relations programs.Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.Ability to travel nationally up to 50%.Bachelor’s degree required.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$131,500.00 - $303,195.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
