The ideal candidate should be creative, motivated, and a passionate hands-on leader in the kitchen!  Successful candidates for this role will have a proven track record of developing creative menus, responds in a professional and courteous manner to guests and team, and enjoys being a teacher of the culinary arts supporting their team both personally and professionally. 

Key Responsibilities

Culinary Leadership & Food Preparation

Prepare and cook menu items for daily dining service and catered or special eventsWork alongside line cooks and kitchen staff during service to ensure timely, high-quality food productionDevelop, test, and refine menus that meet quality, budgetary, and dietary requirementsEnsure consistent food presentation, portion control, and flavor standards

Kitchen Operations & Inventory Management

Order food, supplies, and kitchen equipment; manage vendor relationships and purchasing budgetsMonitor inventory levels, minimize waste, and ensure proper storage and rotation of productsMaintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations

Staff Scheduling & Supervision

Create and manage kitchen staff schedules based on service needs and event demandsSupervise daily kitchen operations, ensuring adequate staffing and smooth workflowLead by example, maintaining professionalism and efficiency during service

Training & Team Development

Train and onboard new hires, including kitchen procedures, recipes, and safety standardsProvide ongoing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback to kitchen staffFoster a positive, team-oriented work environment

Event Support

Plan and execute menus for events, banquets, and special functionsCoordinate with management and event teams to ensure culinary needs are met

Qualifications

Proven experience as an Executive Chef, Head Chef, or similar leadership roleStrong cooking skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environmentExperience with ordering, purchasing, inventory control, and cost managementAbility to schedule and manage staff effectivelyStrong leadership, communication, and training skillsKnowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations

Work Environment

Requires standing for extended periods, lifting supplies, and working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for events and dining service
