Executive, Risk & Underwriting
**Critical Tasks and Expected Contributions/Results:** + Evaluate, price and modify plan design for renewals and new business quotations in compliance with underwriting authorities. + Evaluate renewals and work with relevant sales representatives, brokers and clients to implement required rating actions. + Manage portfolio of accounts balancing profitability and persistency. + Analyse results looking for trends and patterns that may need management currently and into the future. Work with sales and the client to implement changes. + Investigate any non-compliance of benefit adjudication and liaise with appropriate managers to ensure compliance. + Work with sales to improve their knowledge of the technical aspects of the business. Provide concise and clear instructions on what is happening to a risk and provide options to manage costs into the future. + Be market aware, understand the competition, the environment (local social security system etc.,) and the clients needs. + Support the management of the underwriting function including the recruitment, training and development of staff **Key Challenges/Anticipated Changes in Environment:** + Operating ambiguity effectively, even when things are not certain or the way forward is not clear. + Maneuvering comfortably through complex policy, process, and people-related organizational dynamics. + Stepping up to address difficult issues, saying what needs to be said. **Developmental Value of Position:** + To develop and understand all aspect of pricing and risk management + Broad exposure to different aspects of HealthCare Insurance business, operations, and technology **Experience/Knowledge, Education and Other Requirements:** + University graduate preferable. + Minimum 5 years underwriting experience + Exposure in healthcare insurance business. + Ability to work independently to achieve ambitious new business targets. + Fluency in English is essential. **Personal Competencies Required:** + Manages Complexity: - Making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems. + Business Insight: - Applying knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance the organization’s goals, Anticipating and balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders. + Financial Acumen: - Interpreting and applying understanding of key financial indicators to make better business decisions. **About The Cigna Group** Cigna Healthcare, a division of The Cigna Group, is an advocate for better health through every stage of life.
