**Aerotek's client is looking for an Excavator Operator to join their team in the Churchville, MD area.** **Job Description** + As an Excavator Operator, you will play a crucial role in digging trenches for water, sewer, and storm drain systems with high precision. + You will work within utility pipe crews, often using GPS technology to ensure accurate grading, slope work, and depth, all while maintaining strict OSHA safety standards. **Responsibilities** + Dig trenches to specific depths and slopes for water mains, sewer lines, and storm drains. + Assist in setting pipe, manholes, and other precast structures. + Perform daily equipment inspections and follow site safety protocols. + Navigate around existing underground utilities safely. + Compact soil and grade sites to ensure proper drainage and site restoration. **Essential Skills** + 8+ years of experience in excavator operation. + 5+ years in the Wet Utility space. + Proficiency in operating heavy equipment such as dozers and front-end loaders. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in wet utility or civil projects is a plus. **Why Work Here?** + Join a stable team with long-term opportunities and no layoffs, ensuring job security and continuity. **Work Environment** + The role involves wet and dirty work, often working in manholes.
