As a housekeeper, you will perform essential housekeeping duties to maintain cleanliness and hygiene within the facility. Your tasks will include sweeping, mopping, washing, dusting, and polishing various surfaces such as walls, floors, furniture, fixtures, and appliances. You will also prepare discharged patient areas for occupancy, sanitize beds, mattresses, furnishings, bathrooms, and showers, and restock paper supplies to ensure a perfect environment for the next patient. Additionally, you will follow isolation cleaning procedures according to infection control standards and utilize appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment effectively.

ResponsibilitiesPerform housekeeping duties including sweeping, mopping, washing, dusting, and polishing walls, floors, furniture, fixtures, and appliances.Prepare discharged patient areas for occupancy by sanitizing beds, mattresses, furnishings, bathrooms, and showers.Restock paper supplies to ensure a hygienic environment for the next patient.Perform isolation cleaning procedures according to infection control standards.Follow isolation procedures to maintain an aseptic environment.Utilize appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment for various surfaces and finishes.Use chemicals properly according to directions on the manufacturer's label.Maintain closets with appropriate quantities of supplies and store all supplies in proper areas.Operate equipment in a clean, safe, and secure manner.Restore each room or area to its original condition after cleaning.Empty waste receptacles daily to prevent odor and reduce potential spread of microorganisms.Essential Skills1+ year of experience in janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or Environmental Services (EVS).Proficiency in housekeeping, cleaning, janitorial tasks, mopping, and sweeping.Customer service skills.Experience in sanitizing and maintaining hygiene.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in a healthcare setting is preferred.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Work in a rehabilitation hospital with approximately 100 employees, operating on the 1st shift for 40 hours per week with flexible start times. Employees are required to work every other weekend and wear black or navy blue scrubs.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $19.00/hr.
