Description We are looking for a skilled Estimator to join our team in Chesapeake, Virginia. In this role, you will oversee estimating operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in project bids while maintaining strong collaboration across teams. You will play a key role in developing cost proposals, analyzing project requirements, and delivering solutions that align with business goals. Responsibilities: • Direct daily estimating activities, providing strategic and technical guidance to ensure high performance. • Analyze project scope, specifications, and blueprints to produce accurate cost estimates. • Manage multiple project bids simultaneously, maintaining precision and consistency under tight deadlines. • Prepare detailed proposals and bid packages that clearly outline scope, pricing, and value. • Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and reliable resources. • Evaluate alternative methods, materials, and systems to enhance cost efficiency while maintaining quality. • Partner with project teams to align budgets with schedules and operational objectives. • Maintain organized documentation for all estimates, assumptions, and supporting data. • Generate reports and presentations for stakeholders, communicating key insights and projections. • Foster a collaborative and performance-driven work environment that supports team growth. Requirements • At least 10 years of experience in construction estimating or a related field. • Advanced ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project documentation. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. • Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities effectively. • Proficiency in industry-specific estimating platforms and Microsoft Office tools. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for engaging with diverse stakeholders. • Preferred experience with Timberline or similar estimating software. • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships across teams.
