Job Title: Estimator

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator with 3-5 years of estimating experience in commercial construction to join a growing specialty subcontractor. The ideal candidate will have a strong background estimating Division 10 or similar specialty scopes and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely bids for commercial projects by reviewing architectural drawings, performing detailed takeoffs, and developing competitive cost proposals. This role works closely with Project Managers and field teams to support project pursuits from bid through turnover.

Responsibilities

Prepare complete and accurate estimates for 3-4 commercial projects per week.Review architectural drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine full project scope.Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for Division 10 and related scopes.Develop pricing based on labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.Identify scope gaps, exclusions, and potential risks within bid documents.Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing and lead times.Assemble and submit competitive bids in accordance with bid deadlines.Communicate regarding scope clarifications, RFIs, and bid requirements.Work closely with Project Managers to ensure smooth handoff from estimate to project execution.Participate in internal bid reviews and pricing strategy discussions.Maintain organized estimate files, backup documentation, and historical cost data.Utilize Bluebeam for drawing review, takeoffs, and markups.Work within Excel-based estimating tools and pricing templates.Track bid activity, awarded projects, and follow-up opportunities.Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and cost databases.

Essential Skills

3-5 years of experience as an Estimator in commercial construction.Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.Proven ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency with Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel.Familiarity with commercial construction projects ranging from small repair scopes to multi-million-dollar builds.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge of commercial construction processes and standards.Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

Work Environment

This position offers a laid-back office environment, where employees typically work 40-50 hours per week. The team enjoys a tight-knit atmosphere with opportunities for team lunches, happy hours, and working on unique projects in Colorado, such as large commercial buildings for Denver Water, livestock at National Western Complex, higher education facilities, and convention center expansions. Permanent employees enjoy unlimited PTO with prior approval, 3-4 weeks to start, 6 federal holidays paid, mileage, and a cell phone allowance.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Englewood, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $57.69/hr.
