Description
The primary function of the Estimator is to be an important team member to support multiple preconstruction efforts and to be the lead estimator on specific bid efforts.
Technical Skills
Understands the roles and responsibilities of Project Engineers, Project Managers, Project Administrators, Superintendents, and Project Executives.Basic understanding of CPM scheduling software, schedule creation, milestones, procurement timelines, activity durations, and critical path.Familiarity with building methods, logistics, constructability issues, and providing value analysis during design phases.Understands project budget components, general conditions, overhead, fee structure, and contingency.Strong grasp of bid-day organization, subcontractor qualifications, clarifications, and scope development.Ability to analyze subcontractor proposals, identify scope gaps and exclusions, and evaluate cost implications.Able to develop subcontractor scopes for bid day and foster productive subcontractor relationships.Capable of producing estimates at the Construction Document phase using subcontractor input, historical data, and reasonable allowances.Ability to track, analyze, and explain cost differences between estimates.Competent in researching unit pricing, quantifying materials, and anticipating missing scope in conceptual documents.Ability to generate cost-saving ideas based on drawings and specifications.Proficient in developing and manipulating spreadsheets using historic data and current market conditions.Basic understanding of project cost reports, subcontract routing, insurance cost implications, Builders Risk insurance, and OCIP/CCIP programs.Understands subcontractor performance risks, common exclusions, and contractual cost impacts.Familiarity with Owner contracts (AIA formats) and Master Subcontract Agreements.Able to manage and communicate subcontract scopes and related contract exhibits.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field; 3–5 years estimating experience with a General Contractor.Proficient with:MS Word, Excel, PowerPointOutlook (calendar, tasks, address book management)Cloud storage platforms (Box, Dropbox)OST, WebEx, Skype for BusinessBidMail, BIM 360 Glue, Bluebeam Revu, PlanGrid
Basic understanding of scheduling software and construction management systems (e.g., CMiC).
Familiarity with construction administration processes: drawings, schedules, RFIs, submittals, and procurement.
Effective written and verbal communication; strong time management and organizational skills.
OSHA 30 certification; First Aid/CPR certified.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.46 - $48.08/hr.
