Job Title: Estimator

Job Description

Actalent is seeking to hire a skilled Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform quantity takeoffs for concrete materials, labor, and equipment. This role involves reading and outlining project specifications, recording data, and utilizing an estimate template to determine costs for labor, materials, subcontractors, and other related items. The Estimator will procure quotes from vendors and subcontractors, analyze historical project data to assess current project costs, and contribute to future project planning.

Responsibilities

Perform quantity takeoffs for concrete materials, labor, and equipment.Read and outline project specifications.Record data and information into an estimate template to determine costs.Procure quotes from vendors and subcontractors.Analyze historical project data to help determine current project costs.Record project data to assist with future projects.Participate in preconstruction handoff meetings with Project Managers.Compare drawing revisions and quantify changes for updated bids and change orders.Participate in pre-bid job walks and site visits.

Essential Skills

Experience in construction estimation and bidding.Proficiency with estimating software, onscreen takeoff, and construction drawings.Strong skills in construction estimating, particularly in concrete, structural steel, and metal stud takeoffs.Ability to read and understand construction blueprints/drawings.Familiarity with Bluebeam, Procore, and Tekla.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

1-3 years of experience in construction management, with a preference for concrete projects.At least 1 year of experience estimating construction projects, with concrete knowledge being a plus.Strong Microsoft Excel skills.Familiarity with Procore, Onscreen Takeoff, and Bluebeam.

Work Environment

This is an in-office position with limited site visits and job walks. You will be part of an estimating team that includes two other Estimators and a Project Coordinator. Enjoy a non-repetitive work environment with consistent projects across various types, including data centers, art and science buildings, and experimental foundries. Work within one of the largest concrete contractors in Oregon, offering stability and growth potential.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
