Job Description
The Estimator is a key member of the Engineering and Estimating team, responsible for supervising and delegating tasks to project estimators. This individual serves as the primary contact for all estimating needs and is tasked with approving estimators’ quotes to ensure alignment with company pricing structures. The role also involves providing exceptional customer service and timely responses to customer inquiries. Additionally, the Estimator is responsible for the system creation of new parts when they transition from an estimate to a customer order.
Responsibilities
Respond to emails and enter Requests for Quotation (RFQs) into the request tracking system.Deliver exceptional service to customers by providing prompt and accurate responses to inquiries.Review and approve estimators' quotes and pricing.Ensure the estimating department remains focused on their tasks and that quotes are delivered within 48 hours.Conduct job recaps to validate the accuracy of estimates.Audit and improve estimating templates and calculators.Enter new parts into the E2 Shop System and create shop documents.Assist with estimating workload as needed.Analyze customer drawings, blueprints, and other provided information to determine materials needed and production methods required to produce a quality part.Obtain quotes from outside sources as necessary.Estimate materials, labor, and outside costs and calculate pricing using company quoting templates, estimating calculators, and production efficiency reports.Process and generate formal quotes through the E2 Shop System.Contribute to enhancing the company's performance and capabilities by assisting other departments as engineering and estimating issues arise.Assist management in providing cost reductions to key customers by analyzing current projects and quoted prices to identify areas where cost savings can be realized.Assist the quality team with inspections and/or blueprint interpretation when needed.Identify process improvement opportunities in the Engineering and Estimating department and recommend modifications to enhance quality.Recommend modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within the limits of equipment capability.Handle customer environmental compliance requests.Maintain regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule.Essential Skills
Proficiency in computer operation and the Google Suite.Experience with RFQ and Excel data entry.Knowledge of ERP systems and the E2 Shop System.Ability to use calipers, micrometers, measuring tapes, and other measuring devices.Demonstrated skill in computer use, basic math, and blueprint reading.Strong customer service abilities.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in quoting within a manufacturing environment is preferred.Knowledge of E2 Shop Management System is a plus.Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, measuring tapes, and other measuring devices is a plus.Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
