Position Overview:
The Part/Project Estimator will be responsible for evaluating RFQs, preparing accurate cost estimates, and developing project timelines for aerospace components. This role requires a strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication, welding processes, and aerospace-grade materials such as aluminum and Inconel.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze technical drawings, specifications, and RFQs to prepare detailed cost estimatesCollaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure feasibility and accuracy of quotesUtilize estimating software and ERP systems to generate and manage quotesAssess material, labor, and time requirements for each projectMaintain up-to-date knowledge of aerospace standards and materials, especially high-dollar alloysCommunicate directly with clients and vendors as needed to clarify project scope and expectationsWork independently to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneouslyQualifications:
Proven experience in estimating within a machine shop or aerospace manufacturing environmentStrong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and welding processesFamiliarity with aerospace materials, particularly aluminum and InconelProficiency with estimating software and computer programs (e.g., Excel, ERP systems, CAD a plus)Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprintsExcellent organizational and time management skillsStrong communication skills and ability to work independentlyPreferred:
Prior experience quoting for aerospace clientsBackground in project management or production planningPay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $45.00/hr.
