Job Title: ERP Master Data Specialist

6-month contract (potential to extend and or convert permanently)

Hybrid 3 days in Berkeley, CA and 2-days WFH.

Job Description

Fast growing Biotech company is seeking to add an ERP Master Data Specialist to the team to support the company during the commercial launch. This is a hands-on individual contributor level role, responsible for the accurate setup, maintenance, and day-to-day management of supply chain master data in a fast-moving, federally regulated startup environment. This role ensures that critical data supporting procurement, manufacturing, planning, quality, and distribution is complete, consistent, and compliant with FDA and USDA requirements. This position works closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Finance teams to gather requirements, translate operational needs into ERP master data, and keep systems clean as the business scales.

Responsibilities

Manage master data responsibilities including item and product master data for raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods.Maintain Bills of Material (BoMs), formulations, routings, recipes, and production parameters.Oversee supplier and vendor master data, as well as customer and ship-to master data.Gather master data inputs from cross-functional teams and translate them into accurate ERP entries.Create, update, and maintain master data records in ERP systems with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.Ensure master data is set up in alignment with operational processes, costing, planning, and quality requirements.Maintain data documentation, naming conventions, and setup standards.Perform routine checks to identify data gaps, errors, and inconsistencies.Ensure master data supports lot/batch traceability, labeling, supplier qualification, and food safety requirements under FDA and USDA regulations.Support data cleanup, validation, and standardization efforts as systems and processes mature.Follow defined master data change processes and ensure proper approvals and documentation are in place.Support ERP enhancements, data migrations, and system integrations from a master data perspective.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in ERP data management and Microsoft Business Central.Experience with supply chain, database management, ERP migration, procurement, logistics, and supply chain management.Skills in production planning, data entry, purchasing, ERP systems, ERP software, ERP implementation, ERP/MRP, and master data creation.Knowledge of bill of materials, inventory management, project management, and master data records.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or a related field.3+ years of experience in master data management within Manufacturing, Food, Biotech, or other Federally Regulated industries required. Experience with Microsoft Business Central is preferred.Experience operating in federally regulated environments, change management, and quality control required. Strong understand of supply chain (planning, manufacturing, scheduling, logistics)Advanced Excel skills.

Work Environment

The role requires working on-site for 3 days per week in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Berkeley, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $57.00 - $70.00/hr.
