Equipment Specialist II (Onsite – Albany, NY)We are seeking an onsite Equipment Specialist II to support the daily operations of equipment and temporary services on a large construction project. This role is central to coordinating equipment rentals, managing inventory, supporting trade partners, and ensuring the jobsite runs efficiently and safely.
What You Will Do• Lead day-to-day operations for a large, onsite equipment rental program serving all trade partners
• Utilize KPIs and operational insights to support decision‑making and recommend improvements to leadership
• Support ongoing activities including purchasing, fleet and inventory management, scheduling, billing, and customer relations
• Work directly with trade partners to recommend equipment solutions that meet their needs
• Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned equipment and temporary service categories
• Prepare and support equipment and service bid packages
• Provide accurate pricing, availability, and equipment specifications to customers and vendors
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to equipment, inventory, service issues, and billing
• Maintain up‑to‑date records on equipment location, repairs, maintenance, and warranty status
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Provide input on expanding service offerings and recommend new operational opportunities to leadership
• Assist in reviewing contracts and coordinating terms with internal and external stakeholders
• Support safety programs, training, and onsite safety initiatives
• Perform additional duties as needed to support project success
QualificationsExperience & Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Business, Accounting, or related field (preferred)
• 3+ years of experience in equipment rental, supply chain, construction, or related field
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience are welcome
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
• Detail‑oriented, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities
• Familiarity with procurement or asset management systems
• Ability to identify common construction equipment and materials
• Knowledge of logistics operations including equipment, warehouse processes, storage, and safety
Working Environment• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
• Travel as needed (typically under 15%)
• Onsite role in both jobsite and office environments, including exposure to varying weather conditions
• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and computer work
• Occasional bending, climbing, reaching, pushing, and pulling
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Albany, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.09 - $47.60/hr.
