Job Description
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on construction equipment and vehicles, including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, graders, and trucks. Some work with diesel trucks as well. Diagnose mechanical issues and determine the best course of action for repairs. Conduct inspections to ensure equipment is in safe and optimal working condition. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed. Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide on-site repairs as needed. Collaborate with the construction team to ensure minimal downtime of equipment. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing duties. Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements in equipment technology.
Responsibilities
Dismantle machines or equipment to examine parts for defects or to remove defective parts and replacing/repairing them with various metals.Assemble and test operate machines to verify correction of malfunction and to confirm that it meets manufacturer's specifications.Overhaul gas or diesel engines.Perform diagnostics through the use of computers.Why Work Here?

Essential Skills
Ability to diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline engines.Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and brake systems.Use of diagnostic tools and software, such as Caterpillar ET & SIS.Perform scheduled maintenance on heavy equipment like dozers, cranes, excavators, and trucks.Rebuild components, weld, and replace valves, pipes, and solenoids.Experience with torch and welder use for part reproduction and repair.Ability to read and apply technical diagrams for troubleshooting and repairs.Additional Skills & Qualifications
One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school in diesel mechanics or a related field OR 2 years of related experience and/or training.Class A or B CDL or ability to obtain within one year.Clean driving record.Customer service and teamwork skills.Willing and able to work a 2nd shift schedule.Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed.Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job).Work Environment
The role occasionally requires standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, climbing, balancing, and crawling. Frequent stooping, crouching, kneeling, and use of hands to finger, feel, and grasp are required. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. The noise level is loud at times, and work may be required outdoors in all environments. Hours regularly exceed 40 in a week and 8 in a day. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
