**Job Title: Equipment Mechanic**
Job Description
As a Mechanic C, you will begin your career as an entry-level technician, gaining comprehensive product knowledge and understanding the standards of quality within the branch. You will learn the standard operating procedures at the branch, regional, and national levels, setting the foundation to advance to higher levels of mechanics. Your primary focus will be on utilizing your mechanical training to contribute effectively to fleet maintenance operations, ensuring that the equipment is always ready for rental through a robust preventative and corrective maintenance program.
Responsibilities
+ Follow a consistent schedule for performing preventative maintenance on all fleet equipment at your branch.
+ Operate and test equipment to ensure it meets quality and efficiency standards.
+ Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fleet equipment and trucks under direct supervision.
+ Diagnose small tools and light rental equipment with assistance from tenured mechanics.
+ Conduct major repairs using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments under supervision.
+ Carry out oil changes, equipment lubrication, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements, and other services.
+ Enter work orders and complete part ordering via the fleet management system.
+ Assist in reconditioning and replacing parts of heavy equipment.
+ Learn about warranty coverage details.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work area.
+ Produce timely and detailed service reports and repair logs.
+ Follow all company procedures and protocols.
+ Perform additional duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Basic knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems and a willingness to learn to read schematics.
+ Ownership of a sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools for repairs and services.
+ Ability to operate and test various equipment such as boom lifts, forklifts, compressors, generators, hydraulics, and pumps.
+ Competency in computer skills for entering information into systems.
+ Effective and efficient communication skills.
+ Interpersonal skills and teamwork.
+ Listening skills and dependability.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ Ability to lift 50+ pounds and drive/operate multiple types of vehicles and equipment.
+ Attention to detail and the ability to handle assorted tools properly and safely.
+ Solid and proven computer skills for entering work orders.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Experience in troubleshooting, maintenance repair, and various technical skills such as mechanical, electrical, and diesel troubleshooting.

Work Environment
The position is based in a mechanic shop with a hot environment, similar to a sunbelt yard, but with a massive parts warehouse and hanger that is fully covered.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of NA, Florida.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
