DuPont has an immediate opening for an experienced **E** **quipment Maintenance Technician** at our Copley, OH site.
The Equipment Maintenance Technician performs preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems . Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability and yield . Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance) . Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems . Prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures. Has working knowledge and skills to perform a defined set of assignments. Applies experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertise. Works within standard operating procedures and with a moderate degree of supervision.
**Tasks and Work Activities**
**Core Tasks**
+ Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including lubrication, cleaning, and part replacement.
+ Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system malfunctions using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
+ Repair or replace defective components such as motors, pumps, gearboxes, belts, bearings, valves, and sensors.
+ Install, align, and calibrate new machinery and equipment to ensure proper functionality.
+ Inspect equipment and systems regularly to identify wear, leaks, or potential failures.
+ Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
+ Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
+ Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve technical issues and implement process improvements.
+ Ensure compliance with all safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and environmental regulations.
+ Manage inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies, initiating orders as needed.
+ Assist in the creation of documented procedures for recurring, standard preventative maintenance tasks.
**Work Activities**
+ **Inspecting Equipment and Structures:** Regularly check machinery, tools, and facility systems for defects or malfunctions.
+ **Repairing and Maintaining Equipment:** Use hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments to repair machines and restore functionality.
+ **Preventive Maintenance:** Apply scheduled maintenance plans to reduce risk of unexpected failures.
+ **Technical Communication:** Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals; communicate findings and solutions to supervisors and peers.
+ **Safety Management:** Identify hazards, apply corrective measures, and maintain compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
+ **Continuous Improvement:** Participate in initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
**Requirements:**
+ High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required
+ 5+ years’ experience in maintenance or relevant field such as mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical repair in an industrial environment is required
+ Must be able to work from blueprints, manuals, sketches and verbal instructions
+ Excellent time management skills required for this position
+ Must be willing and able to do the following, with or without accommodation:
+ Lift and carry 50 pounds frequently
+ Crouch, crawl, climb ladders, twist, and work at various heights
+ Good or corrected eye site
**Preferred:**
+ Associate’s or Technical Degree in Machine troubleshooting and repair or related maintenance training and experience is preferred
+ Experience working with PLCs is highly desired
