THE ROLE
An Equipment and Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the optimal operation of equipment, machinery, and building systems within a facility. This role combines technical expertise with hands-on problem-solving to support safe and efficient operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Equipment Maintenance
Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and machineryTroubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systemsCalibrate and test equipment to ensure proper functionalityMaintain accurate maintenance logs and equipment recordsOrder replacement parts and maintain inventory of suppliesFacilities Management
Maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building systemsConduct regular facility inspections to identify maintenance needsRespond to emergency repairs and equipment failuresEnsure compliance with safety regulations and building codesCoordinate with external contractors for specialized repairsSafety and Compliance
Follow all safety protocols and OSHA regulationsConduct safety inspections and report hazardsMaintain clean and organized work areasEnsure proper disposal of waste materialsParticipate in safety training programsDocumentation and Reporting
Document all maintenance activities and repairsUpdate work orders and maintenance management systemsTrack equipment performance and recommend improvementsReport recurring issues to managementQUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent requiredTechnical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, facilities management, or related field preferred.1-2 years of experience in equipment maintenance or facilities managementexperience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)SKILLS
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilitiesProficiency with hand and power toolsAbility to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematicsBasic computer skills for documentation and work order systemsExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsStrong attention to detail and organizational abilitiesGood communication and teamwork skillsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
