EQUIPMENT CLEANER - Part time (M-W-F: 24 hours weekly)
To clean and disinfect hospital medical equipment, keep logbooks up to date, research new equipment for manufactures cleaning guidelines and usage protocol. Key Responsibilities: + Clean and disinfect all soiled medical equipment per approved proper cleaning procedures. + Bag items that have been cleaned. + Maintain the available stock of cleaned medical equipment for patient care: Keep clean equipment organized, and ready for use in the clean equipment room + Apply tagging system to items cleaned for proper identification and verification. + Maintain Soiled Equipment Room and Clean Equipment Room cleanliness, floors, counter, sink and shelves should be sanitized daily. + Able to distinguish between clean and dirty areas. + Follows infection Control policies on wearing Personal Protective Equipment while cleaning. + Maintain and stock cleaning cart with approved cleaning supplies. + Plans and assesses priorities to maintain adequate protection with minimum supervision. + Proper techniques used for the rotation of stock. + Check expiration dates, replace out of date items. + Provide daily documentation of areas of coverage and itemized list of equipment cleaned. + Stays updated with cleaning procedures and manufacturers manual of operation for each equipment. + Properly use, store, and maintain chemicals. + Report any chemical spills to Director of Environment of Care + Participates in hospital performance improvement activities. + Follow all infection control measures implemented by the facility. + Must be able to stay standing and walking most of the shift. + Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. + Fill out and properly file and keep organized all Equipment Cleaning paperwork. + Develop and maintain effective relationships and two-way communication with other departments. + Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals. + Speak with others using clear and professional language. + Attend formal training/education to improve and/or advance position skills. + Report any non-compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations to supervisor. + Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of EVS. Qualifications: Skill, Knowledge and Abilities: Attention to detail; Understand and follow written and verbal communications; Able to read and write in English; Good organizational skills; Responsible and cooperative attitude; Neat and clean personal appearance; Understanding the difference between visibly clean and microscopically clean; Ability to rotate shifts and days off as required to perform assignments. Ability to maintain confidentiality of clients; Emotional stability necessary to perform essential functions in client areas; Time management skills and ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision; Experience in the healthcare field; Computer knowledge. Education: Prefer high school diploma or equivalency. Licensure: None required.
