EOI: DataCenter Poject Manager - Tokyo Job ID 234822 Posted 20-Aug-2025 Role type Full-time Areas of Interest Data Centers Location(s) Tokyo - Tokyo - Japan Enterprise Data Center (EDC) is a global organization responsible for the Firm’s enterprise data center portfolio. EDC Asia Project team is accountable for working with the Technology project teams, Corporate Services and Data Center Service providers for delivering any new Data Center (as well as People Center’s communication rooms’) buildouts, enhancements, and changes. In the process, the team is required to gather initial requirements, design solution, monitor construction, and deliver with technology equipment properly installed and the assets’ life cycle managed. We are looking for a creative and proactive bilingual Data Center Project Manager with strong Data Center Whitespace skills, MEP skills, and project management skills to work on building out/refreshing existing our client’s Data Centres in Japan. The manager will involve heavily internal client teams, Data Center service providers, and external vendors. The project will include all stages of Data Center white space activities, working with professional MEP consultants and Data Center service providers on design, recommendation, testing and commissioning, handover and project close out. The manager will also need to be managing project budget and timeline. **Job Description** **Data Center Project Management:** Responsible for overall project coordination with internal technology teams, external contractors, and Data Center service providers to deliver projects. - Design, Analysis and Requirement Gathering o Work with Data Center service providers to understand whitespace constraints (power / coolings) and come up with the white space layouts o Prepare the complete equipment restack plan/phasing plan co-ordinatiing with internal technology teams as well as the DC vendor o Gather hardware BOM (model, delivery dates, etc.) from different technology teams o Calculate/design the required rack count, power consumption, cooling, network panels, cables, circuits, etc, and work with other Data Center teams on design and construction o Work with Sourcing, Real Estate, Legal and Finance teams on RFP’s, and provide adequate support for any DC contract amendment/renewals discussions when applicable - Implementation and Deployment o Monitor Data Center service providers’ progress. Prepare project defect lists and follow-up accordingly o Travel to sites to review construction progress. Work with service providers engineers to provide progress feedback to the client Technical SME’s o Centralize and raise all equipment decommission and disposals requests. Follow appropriate guideline carefully, and work with disposal teams/vendors on equipment disposal, disk degaussing/shredding and document detailed records - Documentation o RFP related documentation o Obtain and collect all data necessary for management/operation report, including capacity management, financial budget forecasts, project spends, vendor coordination, and project sharepoint sites **Skills** · Language: Bi-lingual and be able to read/write/speak in English and Japanese · Experience/Knowledge: o Min 3-5 years working experience in Data Center industry’s mission critical system or other mission critical system. o Good understanding of data center infrastructure and its resiliency design (UPS, Generator, CRAC, cabling, containment routes, etc).
