Environmental Technician
**Company Hiring HAZWOPER Environmental Technician!!!** **Job Description** Join a dynamic team at a leading nationwide environmental company as an Environmental Technician. In this role, you will be an integral part of the Providence team, responsible for managing and transporting waste drums. Your duties will include identifying and sorting drums, loading and unloading them onto trucks, and separating hazardous from non-hazardous waste. You will also help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse. **Responsibilities** + Transport drums of waste and load them into a hopper. + Identify and label drums based on their contents. + Load and offload drums onto trucks. + Separate hazardous waste from non-hazardous waste and place them in designated areas of the warehouse. + Maintain warehouse cleanliness by sweeping and organizing. + Work shifts from Monday to Friday, either 6 am to 2:30 pm or 7 am to 3:30 pm, with overtime opportunities available. **Essential Skills** + General labor and materials handling experience. + Familiarity with forklift operation, wastewater management, hazardous materials, and waste sorting. + Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds throughout the workday. + Experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. + Basic computer skills for completing web-based training. + Ability to understand and respond to English instructions, both written and verbal. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in the environmental or wastewater field is preferred but not required. + A strong desire to build a career in the environmental field. + Ability to work on feet throughout the day and adapt to a repetitive physical job. + OSHA 10 certification preferred. + 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus; company-provided certification available. **Why Work Here?** This large and expanding company offers significant opportunities for career growth and development. This includes the handling of industrial, non-hazardous, and chemical waste streams. The facility is equipped with advanced technology for environmentally responsible waste disposal. Employees must be willing to work in outdoor and indoor environments without climate control and wear company-issued personal protection equipment, including safety glasses, hard hats, steel-toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirators. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract position based out of Kearny, New Jersey. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
