Raba Kistner, Inc. is seeking for an Environmental Scientist I, II, III- NEPA Specialist, to join our Environmental team in San Antonio, TX.  Responsibilities will include assisting with the execution of compliance, natural resource, and geoscience tasks under the supervision and guidance of Senior Project Manager, NEPA/Natural Resources. The Environmental Scientist I will be responsible for performing field activities including but not limited to, natural resource desktop and field investigations, environmental planning studies, stormwater inspections, and hazardous materials investigations. Additionally, they will carefully analyze data and prepare high quality technical reports. 

Conduct field work and data reduction to support environmental projects.Interpret technical information and assist with preparation of technical reports.Assist with preparation of correspondence, permits and other submittals required by federal, state, or local agencies for our clients. Perform desktop studies and coordinate with resource agencies to identify project related environmental constraints (NMFS, TPWD, USFWS, TCEQ, and others).Assist with environmental construction monitoring for various projects.Coordinate activities of subcontractors on assigned projects.Participate, as needed, in Phase I and/or Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, geophysical evaluations, storm water inspections, public involvement activities, and in natural resources and NEPA-related studies.Interact with clients as necessary and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Environmental Scientist I 

A Bachelor’s degree or higher in environmental science/engineering, chemistry, geology, biology or related field.One (1) to three (3) years of experience in GIS (e.g. ESRI ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro) for environmental studies and natural resources (NEPA, wetland and waters of the US delineations) and geosciences (environmental site assessments and environmental due diligence). Knowledge of and/or capability to learn field sample collection (air, soil, groundwater, surface water) protocols and processes, and learn how to operate geographic data collection (e.g. GPS) and other scientific data collection equipment. 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training preferred.Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license and meet company’s auto insurability requirements. 

 Environmental Scientist II

Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience. 

 Environmental Scientist III

Five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience. 

Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently on a job site. Ability to read and interpret information, present numerical data in a resourceful manner, and skillfully gather and analyze information. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Earth, and other related software. Ability to work well with all levels of people within the organization and outside the company. Ability and willingness to travel out of town and overnight to Raba Kistner offices, client offices, and project locations.

This position may require protracted or irregular hours. Flexibility to work irregular hours is necessary due to client needs.
