Environmental Project Manager

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager to support regulatory compliance, environmental oversight, and permitting activities for flood hazard, land use, and infrastructure‑related projects. This role is responsible for reviewing soil erosion and sediment control plans, conducting field inspections, issuing required certificates, and ensuring all work aligns with applicable environmental regulations. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, excellent project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with contractors, engineers, and regulatory agencies.

Key ResponsibilitiesAssess and monitor flood hazard areas to ensure compliance with state and federal regulationsReview and approve soil erosion and sediment control plansIssue certificates and documentation required by governing authoritiesConduct site inspections to verify compliance with approved plans and environmental standardsPrepare and maintain accurate reports, records, and compliance documentationCollaborate with contractors, engineers, and regulatory agencies to resolve compliance issuesStay current on environmental laws, regulations, and industry standardsRequired Skills & Qualifications3–7 years of environmental experience, including Phase I/II assessments, report writing, and permitting for bridge or infrastructure projectsenvironmental science, environmental engineering, and regulatory complianceExperience with NJDEP land use permitting, including freshwater wetlandsUnderstanding of flood hazard regulations and mitigation requirementsAbility to obtain soil erosion and sediment control certificatesKnowledge of permitting processes and environmental documentationHAZWOPER certificationBachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related fieldProven project management capabilities and strong communication skillsNICET Certification (preferred)Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Secaucus, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
