Job Title: Environmental Monitoring TechnicianJob Description Join our team as an Environmental Monitoring Technician, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and safety of pharmaceutical manufacturing environments. This position involves routine monitoring of aseptic processing and controlled area cleanrooms, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). Responsibilities + Perform routine environmental monitoring of aseptic processing and controlled cleanroom environments. + Conduct quality control or quality assurance activities in compliance with SOPs and cGMPs. + Ensure proper aseptic technique during testing of controlled environments and utility systems. + Follow aseptic gowning protocols and procedures. + Monitor lab equipment and techniques, including SAS, SMA, Met One particle counter, viable airborne monitoring, total airborne particulate sampling, viable surface monitoring, and personnel monitoring. + Perform testing on Water for Injection (WFI) and gas sampling. + Use laminar flow hood for plate reading and testing procedures. + Document all work in accordance with cGMP standards. + Spend approximately 70% of time on the manufacturing floor taking samples, with 30% dedicated to documentation and basic lab work. Essential Skills + Strong foundation in biology. + Exposure to cGMP and pharmaceutical manufacturing environments. + Proficiency in using personal computers and data entry programs. + Knowledge of microbiology and environmental monitoring. + Experience with aseptic techniques in cleanroom settings. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's Degree in Biology preferred; Associate's Degree considered. + Entry-level to 2 years of experience is ideal. + Exposure to microbiology lab or aseptic technique is strongly preferred. + Experience working in a fast-paced environment while on feet is highly preferred. Work Environment Work primarily in cleanroom manufacturing environments, radioactive manufacturing settings, controlled environments, laboratories, and office areas. Collaborate with a team of five current Environmental Monitoring Technicians, with plans to expand the team to eight. The role involves regular interaction with manufacturing, QA, QC, and Microbiology departments. The position follows a combination of 1st and 2nd shifts on a 5-week rotating schedule. Training will primarily occur Monday to Friday on a set day shift schedule. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Maryland Heights, MO.
