The Lead oversees maintenance of the environmental department and communicates upward with the department of Supervisor regarding all environmental, maintenance issues. The Lead also monitors daily duties assigned to equipment operators, pickers, and cleaners within the department, while ensuring that all of his/her efforts are compliant with the company Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. Duties may include assisting with maintenance reporting and requirements, to minimize downtime and improve overall operational efficiency. The Lead should possess knowledge of machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance, as well as knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and techniques for maximizing operational efficiency. This position operates under flexible parameters. The primary goal of this position is to achieve excellence in all facets of the position. Providing the highest quality product safely, effectively and efficiently decreases accidents and errors and increase profits. -production - picking - loading and unloading shipments - general cleaning and maintenance - dispose of trash/debris by sweeping and shoveling - anything else asked of them Operational Performance & Best Business Practices: Oversees adherence to schedules, job assignments, and activities in order to run efficiently, at optimal productions rates with minimal overtime. Directs the day to day maintenance of the Environmental cleaning and equipment to meet production schedules and to ensure safe, efficient, and cost effective operations. Provides orderly maintenance of department equipment Recommends replacement of equipment. Adheres to and/or performs repairs as cost effectively as possible to avoid downtime and equipment breakdowns. Monitors adherence to established safety programs and goals to reduce accident frequency within department. Provide backup or assistance throughout the yard as needed or assigned. Lead oversees a group of employees within the Department.
