Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Manager

Job Description

The Environmental Health and Safety Manager will oversee the direct safety and compliance of all abatement, demolition, and site restoration activities. This role demands a thorough understanding of OSHA and environmental safety standards and requires a minimum of 10 years of continuous experience in supervising or managing general construction safety.

Responsibilities

Lead daily safety meetings and conduct routine safety and health inspections.Report weekly safety and health updates to the office.Conduct refresher training as needed, including tools, lifts, confined spaces, and more.Perform safety and occupational health management programs, safety surveillance, safety inspections, and enforcement.Coordinate corrective actions as necessary.

Essential Skills

Minimum 10 years of continuous construction industry safety experience in supervising/managing general construction.Experience in abatement and environmental remediation.Valid driver's license and clean driving record.Ability to pass a federal government background screen.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience managing federal government contracts preferred.OSHA 30, EM-385, and Hazwoper training certificates.Knowledge in asbestos abatement, hazwoper, excavation, demolition, and site assessment.

Work Environment

The position is based on-site at the Aberdeen Proving Ground Location in Edgewood, Maryland, United States. The role requires regular attendance and the ability to complete work projects effectively and on time. Physical capabilities include picking up construction debris and lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally. The position involves prolonged periods of sitting with occasional standing and walking.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Edgewood, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $60.10/hr.
