Environmental Health And Safety Manager

Description

•Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations/permits (Title V, CEMS, HON, MON, LDAR, CISWI, CAMD, Boiler MACT, SPCC, NPDES, SDWA, RCRA, DOT).

•Work with site departments to maintain compliance with permits.

•Coach, train, and guide operations and leadership on environmental requirements.

•Supervise 2 hourly Environmental Technicians + 2 salaried Environmental professionals.

•Set goals aligned with site SHE objectives.

•Develop and coach environmental team members.

•Maintain environmental metrics to drive continuous improvement.

•Oversee recordkeeping and monitoring data for all environmental media.

•Ensure timely, accurate annual/semi annual/quarterly regulatory reporting.

•Review consultant and team reports prior to final approval.

•Report permit deviations promptly to agencies.

•Act as liaison with IEPA/EPA, including during inspections.

•Provide environmental support to production units.

•Participate in reviewing MOCs and daily production meetings.

•Develop cost effective and sustainable environmental solutions.

•Evaluate consultants/vendors for value.

•Update compliance policies and procedures periodically.

•Assist operations with alarm strategies for environmental limits.

•Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses.

•Serve on-call approximately one week per month (including holidays), with ability to respond onsite.

•Promote their 20 Safety Principles and Life-Saving Rules.

•Intervene and engage others to correct safety deviations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

•B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related science.

•Minimum 8 years of plant or industry experience.

•Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.

•Must be self motivated and able to work with cross functional teams.

•Ability to perform in a 24/7 fast paced environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Minooka, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $135000.00/yr.
