Your Opportunity
Stantec is looking for a part-time OR full-time Environmental O&M Field Technician to join our Remediation team. This position will primarily be responsible for completing Operation and Maintenance (O&M) activities related to soil, soil vapor and groundwater remediation systems, maintenance of landfill gas extraction and leachate systems, and various other operating remediation systems. In addition, the Field Technician will be responsible for completing status reports and providing other environmental support such as managing data and writing other environmental assessments, remediation, and/or cleanup reports. This position will also include preparing site-specific health and safety plans, conducting field work, collecting soil/water/soil vapor samples for investigation and remediation oversight and documentation.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Complete work in a safe manner.
- Complete maintenance of O&M systems
- Trouble-shoot recovery systems and conduct minor mechanical repairs
- Document operation, maintenance and repairs of O&M systems
- Prepare Site Investigation and Cleanup reports
- Preparation and implementation of health & safety plans
- Coordination and oversight of subcontractors, including health and safety management
- Collect and interpret data, conduct analyses, and compare findings to relevant local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance
- Conduct fieldwork including soil, groundwater, and soil vapor testing
- Travel as necessary to complete project work; with some out-of-state assignments, as needed
- Observation, oversight, documentation, and implementation of environmental investigation and cleanup activities
- Maintain utilization goal
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Mechanically inclined, ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical problems
- Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with both clients and project team members
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet strict project deadlines
- Learn to understand engineering and construction plans and specifications
- Ability to travel as required for proposal and project needs
- Have an acceptable driving record
- Ability to work extended hours and schedules when necessary to fit project demands
Education and Experience
- 2-year degree, preferably with a mechanical perspective.
- 40-Hr HAZWOPER training (preferred, but not required).
- State Certified Asbestos Inspector (preferred, but not required).
- 0-3 years of relevant experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs.
- Experience with Environmental O&M systems is preferred.
Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather and doing repetitive work such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time. Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs and operate tools such as hammer drills, hand augers, and other field monitoring equipment safely. Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.

• Locations in MN, OH, VT, & Various CA, NY Areas-$40,200.00 - $54,300.00 Annually
