Direct Hire position$70,000.00 to $110,000.00 /annuallyFirst Shift (Monday through Friday from 08:00am to 05:00pm)Plans and directs activities concerning environmental, safety and health regulatory compliance. Demonstrates expertise in the concepts, practices and procedures of federal, state and local regulations. Identifies environmental and safety issues that may affect the associates and facilities and develops plans for preventive and corrective action.
Ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, DEP & DOT) on air and water pollution, waste disposal, chemical release and hazardous materials storage and handlingDevelops regulatory compliance strategiesEnsures all government-mandated training requirements are fully satisfiedEnsures the preparation of reports and documentation relating to permits and environmental, health and safety complianceParticipates in environmental, health and safety audits and inspectionsUpdate and maintains the Integrated Preparedness, Prevention & Contingency PlanParticipates in developing safe and environmentally sound work practicesEnvironmental Affairs Specialist Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in technical discipline and 5 years of on-the-job experience in Environmental or Safety Science, Environmental Engineering or Chemistry functionsFamiliarity of EH&S management systems (ISO, OSHA, GHS)Strong communication (oral & written), and analytical skillsAbility to work in both a team and independentlyAbility to understand and develop systems to support environmental initiativesAbility to communicate within all levels of the organization, as well as with outside organizations and regulatory agenciesCapable of handling potentially high-stress emergency situationsProficiency with standard desktop computer software applicationsOn call at all hours as circumstances requireAbility to travel up to 25% of the time as business needs warrantWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and celebrate diversity at all levels of our organization.
