Please note, training will be days for 3 - 6 months before moving to nights. And are equally committed to creating a healthier environment and planet through our sustainability efforts. **Job Summary** In this role, you will be a technician supporting the tooling program at the Jersey Shore, PA facility. This includes installation, removal, cleaning, maintenance and repairs with both mold press tooling and trim press tooling. The candidate will be knowledgeable with tooling and machining measurements, capable to use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices. Must be able to understand and operate machining equipment including bench grinders, surface grinders, and CNC machines. Must be capable to follow preset schedules, work independently, and complete intricate assembly and disassembly processes with complex tooling. Also able to work in elevated temperature environments, typically when cleaning molds. Must be able to meet the 12-hour demands of the shift, which includes long periods of standing work, coupled with pushing, pulling, lifting, moving heavy dies or molds into or out of presses multiple times per shift. Able to use computer programs for documentation, record keeping of changes made to the tooling. Previous experience with machine tooling preferred but will train the right candidate exhibiting strong mathematical and equipment comprehension. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** + Ability to safely transport, disassemble, clean, reassemble, and prep tools for production use + Includes performing trim die maintenance, cleaning, peening, chamfering, sharpening, etc. + Includes cleaning molds via Salt Bath, Bake Oven or CO2 Mini Blaster + Includes operation of mold surface texture beads blaster + Ability to set-up tooling and operate Surface Grinder and CNC equipment with pre-programmed routines + Perform clean up runs, spraying and preparing molds for production + Maintain Fremont/salt cleaning tank with appropriate concentration, fluid level, temperature, and solution cleanliness + Sharpen and maintain scissors and hand punches for production + Prepare/maintain production and mold maintenance file forms, reports and records + Complete mold and trim press line clears, tooling damage changes, and associated paperwork + Keep supervisor advised of any/all off standard conditions, work, property damage, accidents and unusual conditions encountered + Other duties as assigned **Additional Responsibilities** **Education** + High School Diploma GED required. + Technical certificate in Precision Machining/Mechanical Engineering Preferred **Work Experience** + Ability to work in standard Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) + Must possess a moderate to high level of mechanical ability, understanding fractions and decimals + Able to train to operate mold lift truck, forklift(s), and electric hand truck + Must be able to work most of a 12-hour shift standing and moving around the facility **Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** + Prior technical education in field relating to tooling/machining + Previous experience in a manufacturing facility using tooling and/or machine shop + Previous experience in a cGMP regulated environment + Able to work in clean room environments, following strict gowning requirements + Willing and able to work as a team to make general decisions within authorized responsibility + Willing and able to work overtime within the department as necessary + Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by the job requirements + Support and contribute to continuous improvement programs and activities + Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times + Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times. **License and Certifications** **Travel Requirements** 5%: Up to 13 business days per year **Physical Requirements** Medium-Exerting up to 50lb/22kg of force occasionally and/or up to 20lbs/9kg of force frequently, and/or up to 10lbs/4kgs of force constantly to move objects. **Additional Requirements** West is an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity at our company.
