Overview Our client is seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to support heavy industrial clients including automotive, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, and manufacturing sectors. This role works under a Senior Structural Engineer and involves engineering calculations, design oversight, and direct client interaction. Our client supports major clients such as Chrysler, Lilly, Citizens Energy Group, Cummins, and PepsiCo. Key Responsibilities • Perform detailed calculations for structural steel, concrete, and foundation systems. • Conduct analysis, code research, and problem-solving to support compliant designs. • Support design using AutoCAD 2D (primary), Revit, SolidWorks, and other tools. • Meet with clients, gather technical requirements, and provide engineering solutions. • Collaborate with drafting teams while having the option to perform independent design work. • Conduct on-site assessments to evaluate existing structures and field constraints. Project Types • Structural steel design and reinforcement. • Industrial concrete foundation systems. • Rail system upgrades for industrial facilities. • Roof integrity assessments and structural load evaluations. • Structural code research and compliance reviews. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis. • Ability to perform load calculations for steel, concrete, and foundations. • Strong interest in industrial structural engineering. Preferred Qualifications • Experience in industrial structural engineering. • Experience with Revit, SolidWorks, or related structural design tools. • Structural Designers with 5+ years of experience are encouraged to apply. Work Environment & Schedule This is an on-site position, NE side of Indianapolis. The office environment has an industrial/construction feel, not typically consulting environment, more laid-back. Business casual to casual dress (jeans acceptable, no t-shirts or athletic shoes). Flexible schedule with typical hours between 7–8 AM start and 3:30–5 PM finish. Approximately 40 hours per week with minimal overtime. Occasional client site visits required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $42.00/hr.
