Job Title: Mechanical Engineer We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer for an exciting contract role. This position is ideal for an early-career professional looking to grow in a hands-on, high-impact environment. You will support laser etching programming, fixture design, and validation processes in compliance with aerospace industry standards for various components. Responsibilities + Develop and maintain laser etching programs for part identification and traceability. + Format, layout, and configure 2D data matrix codes and layouts in accordance with industry standards. + Design custom fixtures using SolidWorks for 3D printing applications. + Conduct precise measurements of machined and assembled parts using standard metrology tools to ensure dimensional accuracy. + Review and approve validation pieces, ensuring compliance with industry specs and quality standards. + Work closely with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and design to support engineering documentation and continuous improvement initiatives. Essential Skills + Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. + Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software. + Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. + Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Internship or 1–2 years of relevant experience preferred, but not required. + Exposure to Aerospace industry standards (AS9100). + Knowledge of GD&T. + Experience with precision measurement or metrology tools. + Familiarity with laser etching systems and additive manufacturing. Work Environment This role will split time between the production floor (70%) and a desk environment (30%). There is a dedicated area for laser etching, layout and configuration, measuring parts, and programming. Some of the programming can be done offline at a computer, depending on the complexity and repeatability of the component. The facility includes brand new 3D printers for creating custom fixtures, and the production floor has easy access to the assembly team for direct communication on product completion timelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Painesville, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
